In addition to this, we offer a Stand-Alone Court option, whereby hardware is provided to run a local area network (LAN) in courts with limited or no internet access. Finally, the eTrialToolkit can be deployed on-premise and used with no internet, or via a local network. All deployments require licenses.

How fast can we get this into our courtroom?

eTrialToolkit can be accessed via the web, and so it can be used almost immediately. You will, however, need to load your documents in and may need some initial training if you (or your Judge) are new to the software. This can all be done within a week. Can I have a “Virtual Hearing” with the eTrialToolkit?

Yes. In fact, eTrialToolkit is perfect for virtual hearings. Just set up a video or audio conference and connect to the eTrialToolkit case. You can keep everyone on the same page and conduct the case as if you were all in the same room.

Does the eTrialToolkit work for eDiscovery?

eTrialToolkit is designed for the hearing room and is the best way to keep your eDiscovery case digital in the courtroom. For the identification, collection and review of evidence, we recommend starting with software such as Nuix Discover, Relativity, or Prividox, and then using eTrialToolkit for the hearing. Are the data and network secure?

eTrial Toolkit is hosted on a private Canadian server and is incredibly secure.

Do judges have to pay?

Judges, the registrar and one clerk do not have to pay for eTrialToolkit. We generally see the parties agree to use eTrialToolkit and propose the eTrial as a way to be more efficient in dealing with evidence. The parties pay for eTrialToolkit, with no additional cost to the Court.
